How is the estimated due date calculated?

This tool estimates ovulation from the first day of the last period, cycle length and luteal phase length, then adds 266 days. With its default 28-day cycle and 14-day luteal phase, this is 280 days after the first day of the last period.

Is the estimated date exact?

No. Menstrual and cycle estimates can differ from clinical dating. Discuss dating with your maternity care provider; a scan can give a more accurate estimate.
